How To Build A Tool Rack In Your Garage

Even if you have a storage room in your garage you could probably still need
some way to hang everything up out of the way. A wall covered with pegboard
could be the solution. It’s fairly simple to do and can be done for around $100.00.

Tools Needed:

Steps To Take:

  1. The first thing of course is to decide which wall you want to put it on and how large you want to make it. You might want only a small area or you might want to cover the entire wall.
  2. locate the studs in the area that you want to cover. Once you find the first stud measure over either 16” or 24” to find the next one.
  3. Cut the 1 x 4’s and picture frame the area that you want covered using the nails or screws to attach them to the wall.
  4. Then cut the center pieces to length and attach to the wall.
  5. Cut the pegboard to fit and attach it to the 1 x 4 ‘s.
  6. Then put the pegboard brackets in the holes. These come in different lengths to accommodate different items.

It’s really as simple as it sounds and could probably be done by any novice in just a few hours.
